This 250TR is chassis number 0714TR and was first owned by Piero Drogo. Mr. Dorogo made modifications to the car before using it in competition. Its racing debut was at the 1958 Buenos Aires 1000 km where it finished in fourth. It raced in a few more events before being sold to an American amateur racer named Alan Connell through Luigi Chinetti. Mr. Connell painted the car black with a red stripe across the frontal nose.
The car has been restored to new condition and painted in the livery as raced by Mr. Connell. In 2009 it was offered for sale at RM Auctions' Leggenda e Passione where is sold for over $12 million (€9,020,000).By Daniel Vaughan | May 2009

This car (0714TR) is the fourth Testa Rossa built and the second customer car. Sold new to Piero Drogo in Modena, this car was immediately modified with air scoops beneath the doors to help cool the rear brakes. His first race was the 1958 1000 Kilometers at Buenos Aires, finishing fourth overall with co-driver Sergio Gonzalez. The car was later shipped back to Europe and competed in some minor events before being rebuilt and repainted red. It was later acquired in 1970 by Robert Dusek of Solebury, Pennsylvania, and restored to its original specification and color. After changing hands among several noted Ferrari collectors, it is once again shown in the black and red livery from the 1960s.
